Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the new church be?

The simple answer is: we don’t know yet.  We are looking at multiple options in the Village of Mukwonago including vacant properties and existing facilities.  In particular, we are looking at two existing facilities to either rent or purchase: the old Walmart (by Peebles on 83 and I-43) and the old Sentry store (in the Greenridge center on the corner of NN and ES).

When will you move into a new facility?

Our desire is to move in by September 2011.  We know that this is a complicated process and we hold our timeline loosely.

What do you mean by a multi-purpose facility?

One of our core values at Brooklife is to “RELEASE resources into the community.”  We would like to do this with our facility.  Thus, we want the facility not to just be for our ministry and needs but for the community’s needs.  Our desire is to see this facility used throughout the week by various organizations, school groups, and others.  We want this to act as a community center where our church just happens to meet.

Who is our architect and construction management firm?

Hartland Group is our architect.  Stier Construction is our construction management firm.  Both Hartland and Stier have many years of experience in building churches.

How much will this cost and how will we pay for this facility?

In 2009, Brooklifers pledged to give $1.74 million over a period of three years.  In addition, we will take out a loan to cover the remainder of the cost.  We estimate the total cost to be around $5 million.

How much have we raised so far of the $1.74 million pledged?

As of June 2010 we have raised nearly $600,000.  We are slightly behind where we need to be at this point.

What is a 3-year faith pledge?

A faith pledge is just that: a pledge based on faith that God will help you give that amount over three years.  This pledge is above and beyond your regular giving.

Can I still make a pledge even if I haven’t already?

Absolutely!  Please click here for more information.

Why did Brooklife back out on the purchase of the property on ES?

In 2009 we signed an offer for a 20 acre parcel of land on ES behind the Citgo gas station towards Vernon.  We pulled out of the property, however, because the site development costs rose significantly beyond our original projections.  We still, however, are looking at the ES property as one of our possibilities.

Did we lose much money working on the ES property?

No.  We received all of our earnest money back.  The only costs incurred were related to the work done by our civil engineer, architect, lawyer, and construction management team.

How do I pray for the imagine project?

Who do I contact if I have questions?

Please contact Dale Quakkelaar, Chairman of the Council of Elders, at elders@brooklife.org
