Everyone wants one of those marriages where the couple stays committed and loving for their lifetime, but as we discussed last week, that’s not so easy to accomplish. Nevertheless, we still want it. So how do we get it? Well, something probably needs to be fixed. The big question is whether she’s the witch or he’s the jerk. That’s what we’ll try to figure out.

- What is your favorite part of marriage? Why? What is the part of marriage you dislike the most? Why?
- Please read Proverbs 4:20-23. When you hear the phrase “Guard your heart”, what comes to mind? Why do you think that is so important to God? When it comes to marriage, what aspects of the heart should be guarded?
- Please read Philippians 2:3-11. According to this passage, what is supposed to be our heart toward other people? How would that apply in marriage? Why is it that sometimes it feels easier to be kinder to perfect strangers than it is to your spouse?
- What are practical ways you can consider your spouse’s interests more than your own? Why is it hard to consistently consider your spouse better than yourself? How does the knowledge that Jesus showed all the love for humanity that He did and was still rejected by many effect the way you love your spouse? What one thing can you do to love your spouse better this week?
