So, we’ve been looking at the way you get what you’ve always wanted…staying focused on Jesus. But, in a world filled with distractions, how do you stay focused on Jesus? Well, you need cheerleaders! See what I mean!
Small Group Questions
- What is your response when you see someone accomplish something incredibly difficult? What is the hardest thing you ever accomplished? What feelings did that accomplishment evoke in you?
- Please read Hebrews 3:1, 12-13. According to verse 1 we are to fix our eyes on Jesus. What makes that so hard? If you’ve had success at staying focused on Jesus, please share what contributed to that success.
- Hebrews 3:12-13 speaks to our need to help and be helped by others if we are going to stay focused on Jesus. What parts of that thought excite you and which parts concern you? Both verse 12 and 13 are commands to every follower of Jesus, which speaks to their importance. How can you make sure you are both watching out for your “brothers and sisters”? How can you make sure you are encouraging your “brothers and sisters”?
- Please share stories of how people have helped you achieve your accomplishments. Would you have achieved those things without others’ help? How can you practically help your “brothers and sisters”? Where should you start?
