Women’s Thursday Morning Bible Study and Moms will not be meeting this week or next (as originally planned due to spring break).
HSM is meeting tonight. See you there!
This Sunday, we are asking that you worship with us from home. With the new information available to us now and the request from Department of Health Services to cancel all gatherings of 250+ people, we have decided to cancel our in-person Sunday Worship Services. Instead, we will be broadcasting over the internet our worship service so that we can still worship together, just not in person. You can tune into our services by going to brooklife.churchonline.org where the service will be broadcast at 9 and 10:30am, just like every Sunday.
So, you might be asking yourself why this is an important thing for Brooklife to do. As you know, our dream for this community is to make a place for everyone to experience the love of Jesus. We want people to know we love them and care deeply for them because we know each of them was created in God’s image. That’s our heartbeat. That’s why we are so involved in our community each and every day. I am very proud of the impact Brooklife has made for Jesus in this community. Caring for our community right now means sacrificing our in-person worship services for a time so that we reduce the speed of the spread of the Coronavirus. Very simply, if too many people get the virus too quickly, it will put too high a demand on our healthcare system. We have been blessed in America with a tremendous healthcare system, but even it cannot handle too many people needing hospital care at one time. We have been asked to help slow the spread, and it is our duty to help in any way we can. This is how we love the people in our community at this time.
In addition to giving up our in-person worship services for a time, we are reaching out to our community partners to see how we can help in meaningful ways and will update you with other opportunities to show Jesus’ love to this community during this time. People are going to need help and lovingly help is what we do. So, please watch for emails and other communications and volunteer when those opportunities are presented.
I know that watching online is not the same as being at Brooklife in person. I have been saying that for some time. But thanks to God moving us to have the ability to broadcast online, we can now still worship together even if not in person. The presence of God will be with us as we worship together in this fashion. God is everywhere so He will be the uniting factor as He always is. So please take the time on Sunday to sit down as you normally would and worship together with us from your home. We will continue to praise God and learn more about Who He is and what it means to follow Him together.
Please keep praying for our community. Please also stay faithful to gathering together in your small groups. Please keep serving the community and in other Brooklife opportunities other than Sunday morning services. Please keep giving generously to the dream God has given us to make a place for everyone to experience Jesus’ love, find life-giving relationships and pursue their God-given purpose. The Best Is Yet To Come because God is on His throne, and I believe that in the midst of this Coronavirus, God will use us to bring HIs love in greater ways than we could have ever imagined to this community. God is at work, and we get to be part of it. What a privilege!
John 16:33, “I (Jesus) have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
